Description: Amazing Estate Discovery! This is an antique masonic Knights Templar ceremonial sword. Marked Horstmann Bros. Horstmann Bros. was known for textiles, glass, clothing and many more items. When it was in demand, military uniforms and regalia. Swords were made with matching belts. The hilt, handle and head piece made in Phil., but the blades were imported from the ancient German sword-blade emporium of Solingen, Germany. As suggested, not a battle sword but ceremonial for a dress uniform Circa the late 19th or early 20th century. The blade is double etched with decorations while the sword has a white ox bone handle with a brass knight head pommel. Comes with original leather belt with steel bade numbered 435, and original scabbard with Masonic decorations commonly associated with both the historic and modern Knights Templar. The handle parts are a bit loose. The ox bone grip has a slight chip.The sword measures 32" LThe sword in scabbard measures 34”L This Knights Templar sword contains detailed workmanship from the pommel of its hilt to the tip of the scabbard, a fitting tribute to the Craft and to its owner. The nickel-plated scabbard likewise contains Templar images and stylings which, combined with its obvious antiquity, make it stand out in any usage or display.
