Description: English Georgian Banjo Wheel Barometer/Thermometer/Hygrometer - AIRGUIDE 1968 Chicago This is a mid-20th century English George III (of the period) fruitwood barometer featuring an open pediment, English wheel/banjo shape made by Airguide. It measures 26-1/2” x 8” x 2-1/4” and is in excellent condition. All 3 instrument faceplates are engraved and polished – thermometer, barometer and hygrometer. The old-style alcohol thermometer is non-fragmented and filled with red alcohol. The barometer is 8” in diameter, compensated and dead accurate (A compensated barometer is not influenced by temperature). All of the instruments are original and marked Mase in U.S.A. by Airguide Instrument Company, Chicago. The hygrometer (humidity gauge) is responsive and accurate. The barometer is 6 inches in diameter (brass mount) and overall this weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. The dial faces are in exceptionally nice condition given their age, the only noticeable blemish is on the case where the wooden body is dinged at about the 9 o'clock position Height: 26-1/2 in Width: 8 in.
