Description: You will love this unique, hand made, basket weave, end grain cutting board or charcuterie board. This cutting/charcuterie board is made in the USA in our workshop in rural PA. It is made of hard maple and walnut sourced from North Carolina. The board is 11.5" x 11.5" and1.5" thick. It weighs 5 lbs and feels solid and durable. The top is sanded to 220 grit and is smooth to the touch. This board is not a chopping block. Do not use this for chopping. The pattern is a unique basket weave with multiple elongated weaves in the middle. This pattern gives the board a unique look that you can't find anywhere else. The board is an end grain board which is superior to a face grain board. End grain wood is firmer and more durable than face grain or edge grain wood. End grain cutting boards are good for keeping knives sharp longer because the knife blade moves apart the wood grains and doesn't cut the wood grains. With proper care this cutting board can last a lifetime if not more. Even if the face is chewed up, it can be resurfaced to expose a new face just as durable and nice as the old one. Maintenance for this cutting board is quick and simple. To maintain the look and feel of this board, gently wash with water and wipe dry after each use. Once a year, reapply a coat of mineral oil or butcher block oil. It'll be good as new. Note: The board might not be completely level when you receive it.This is due to the change in moisture and temperature that causes the wood to expand and contract. This is perfectly normal. Let the board sit in your environment for a few days then take a phillips head screwdriver and adjust the rubber feet to level it. Everything is level and perfect here at our home when we make it.
