Traditional Earthenware All our pottery is made from cream-coloured earthenware, a traditional Staffordshire product in our factory in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of British pottery. We still do most of the production work by hand. All the pieces are hand-decorated, so each is slightly different. And the person who paints our spongeware also signs it. From the beginning, Emma wanted to make pottery that could be used and enjoyed daily. We take a lot of care with the shapes of our pieces. Our mugs feel just right in your hands. Our bowls and plates are big enough for generous portions but not that silly restaurant size that takes up all the room on your table. And, of course, all of our tableware is perfectly happy being washed in the dishwasher. Emma Bridgewater pottery is now available from Finch & Lane Interiors. Not recommended for use in the microwave. Earthenware pottery can sometimes get hot in the microwave. Not oven safe. Our pottery is not oven safe unless marked as cookware.
