BASIC REPAIRS: Motor Service, Recap & Amp Inspection - $150-Replaces the Capacitors on your Wondergram's amplifier, speaker and motor with brand new ones. Wondergrams have incredibly thin wires, any damaged or broken over time will be replaced with modern wire. Dry Solders will be refreshed. Motor will be evaluated and idler wheels will be resurfaced if possible/necessary. Drive Wheel will be Coated for better traction. Motor position adjusted if necessary. Optional: bypassing volume pot for full volume. Battery Contact Upgrade - $50-100These devices often suffer from degradation of the poorly designed battery terminals. In this service we repair or replace the original battery terminals. UPGRADES: Amplifier Replacement & Battery Upgrade $250-Bypasses the original amplifier with a new digital amp, the C batteries will be removed and replaced with a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack. Original C battery contacts are unreliable and can contribute to motor performance issues. Volume controls and charging cable will be relocated to underneath old battery door. Small power button added to outside of device. This service retains and improves the record player functionality. Original tonearm and needle are left in place and wired to new amp. This is the path to a more reliable and useable Wondergram, but it will mean replacing nearly all internal components. I try to keep the external device as original as possible. Speaker Replacement - $50-Factory speaker upgraded to either two 2" speakers or one speaker of original size. All devices I service will be treated to a cleaning, plastic polish and metal polish. Plastic Welding Repair of case cracks may be possible depending on severity.Prices do not include shipping. I may recommend a needle replacement for your device - Price subject to availability.
