He is certified as an EMS Education Coordinator in Virginia and teaches Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) classes for his agency. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine. He was a part-time faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton, and retired from a 40-year career in systems and software engineering.
