Description: PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY...Another original 24" x 36" poster titled "The Emergence Of The Supercarrier" that was a folded insert in the Grumman Aircraft magazine publication "Horizons" (vol. 14, No. 2). There is a 1978 copyright date on the bottom of the poster. This poster shows the history of the Aircraft Carrier from the 1920s thru the 1980s. The ships featured are: The Langley (CV-1), Lexington (CV-2), Ranger (CV-4), Yorktown (CV-5), Essex (CV-9), Independence (CVL-22), Midway (CVB-41), Forrestal (CV-59), Kitty Hawk (CV-63), Enterprise (CVN-65) and Nimitz (CVN-68). Also shown are some of the aircraft that were on these carriers. They are: Grumman F14A Tomcat Fighter Interceptor, Grumman A-6E Intruder, Grumman E2-C Hawkeye, Vought A-7E Corsair II, Lockheed S-3A Viking, Grumman EA-6B Prowler, North American RA-5C Vigilante and Sikorsky SH-3H Sea King ASW helicopter. THis poster is in excellent condition with light wear/marks mostly along the "fold" lines when you unfold it. NOTE: This poster came folded originally as an insert in the Horizons magazine and it will be shipped that way. The actual Horizons magazine is NOT included in this listing.
