Description: Order Number: AC-26186MFR'S Part Number: 1776SPEC Number: 94-27970Serial Number: AC42-5306 This clock was obtained through the Estate of a grandparent who collected military items. From the research I have done, the serial number (AC42-****) indicates this clock was manufactured in 1942 and would have possibly been mounted in the instrument cluster of a Curtis P40 Warhawk or a MD C-47 Sky Train. Later model Elgin clocks were also installed in P-51 Mustangs; however, this serial number is likely to early for that. The clock is in working condition (unlike many you see on here) and the tension in the winding knob appears to be very firm which would appear to indicate the winding spring is still very strong. I would still recommend allowing a professional to clean and check out the innerworkings of the clock before extended use as the clock obviously has been sitting for a long time.
