Description: Edwardian Art Nouveau Style Sash Pin Brooch Early 1900s Large Used and Worn This antique sash pin or brooch is preowned and in good condition taking into account it's age, use and history. This was part of a collection of antique pins and such so there have been several owners most likely. It has been used and loved as you can see from the photos there is a lot of wear on one end where it was handled the most to attach to the garment. It is possible that there was a matching overhanging piece on one side of the floral design that is missing. It is hard to tell if there is supposed to be one one or two sides when viewing the side for something broken. There is wear, there is surface scratching and rubbing off of the gold finish in many places. There is some patina and verdigris building in some areas. The back of the pin has marks associated with use as well. They are scattered across the backside of the pin. The sash pin in designed with a layered art motif over the oval portion the pin back is attached to. It is decorated in an Art Nouveau style. It is a quality made sash pin and appears hand made or hand crafted. The "pin" or latch on the back is tight and has four very sharp prongs to attach to the garment. The prongs are again, sharp.
