In 'The Shield of Honor' (1927) Jack MacDowell (Neil Hamilton) is recruited by the LAPD as a pilot in their new air force regiment. When a gang of jewellery thieves go on a spree MacDowell is given the perfect opportunity to show off his skills as a pilot. In 'The Shakedown' (1929) corrupt fighter Dave Roberts (James Murray) stops taking bribes when he falls in love with a waitress, Marjorie (Barbara Kent), and wishes to impress her.
