Up for sale are a very rare pair of Dynaco Mark III mono block tube amplifiers restored and modified by Melos Audio. I got these from the daughter of the original owner who was a good friend of the owner of Melos. They were restored and modified sometime in the mid 2000s. Both amplifiers work, are very quiet, pass audio, and sound great to me, but please understand I have not had them serviced, I have not adjusted the bias, and I have not tested the tubes. I ran these for over two hours, and they still worked great for the duration. The Dynaco emblems are underneath the Melos, I'm sure they can be removed if you prefer the original Dynaco. The modifications that are obvious I have listed below. There might be others. All transformers are original, and the previous owner wrote down any bias adjustments underneath the bottom cover. The last bias setting was done in 2017. 1: The rectifier tube has been replaced with a solid state, popular mod. 2: The amps have been completely recapped and the bias potentiometer has been moved underneath. 3: The input tubes have been changed from a single 6AN8 to a dual 12AX7 and a 12BH7. 4: The speaker terminals, power switch, and RCA connectors have been upgraded. The power cords are grounded. 5: Just like stock, the amplifiers run off two 6550 / KT88 power tubes but there is a third empty 6550 / KT88 socket and added filament transformer underneath the cover that can be disconnected or connected via a cable. I believe this can be used as a redundant / optional extra tube socket but have not confirmed this. Both amplifiers run fine as shown in the picture. 6: Two fans have been added to the outside of the cages and run via connectors. See pictures # 14, 15, 16 and 17. One fan on each amp seems to be disconnected. The other fan works on each. 7: There might be other modifications, but these are the ones I know of.
