Description: It's retro Drive-In mania at it's finest with this rare 1974 exploitation flick The Beast and the Vixens also known as Desperately Seeking Yeti and originally titled The Beauties and the Beast. Shot on location in Big Bear Lake in California it's a fun filled romp about a sex-craved Bigfoot kidnapping beautiful women camping in the woods. The picture originally had two versions released including an X-rated one showing off countless nude women including Swedish bombshell Uschi Digard remembered from Russ Meyer's CHERRY, HARRY & RACHEL! The Beast/Yeti creature is straight out of B-MOVIELAND and bears a striking resemblance to the Gargantuas in the Japanese monster classic WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS. With only a prior VHS release, the original negative for this picture has been long lost. Fortunately Dark Force was able to find some surviving 35mm prints with some extra reels from the shorter X-rated release. BASIC STORYLINE After a brief description of the legends of Bigfoot by the narrator, this film goes on to show what the hairy monster might really be doing with his time in the woods: watching women get naked and have sex. After spying on a couple of college girls sleeping together in a remote forest cabin, Bigfoot then stumbles across a couple having sex in the woods. After he chases off the man to have a little fun of his own with the woman, the film then leaves Bigfoot to follow the exploits of the two college girls as they encounter a troupe of skinny-dipping hippies who then have to fight off a pair of hardened criminals while avoiding the monster. REAR COVER Filmed in 1972 at the height of the Bigfoot movie craze, THE BEAST AND THE VIXENS, takes the concept one step further by having the creature capture a bevy of beautiful girls and imprisoning them in his makeshift cave while two violent thugs terrorize a group of Free Loving hippies! Filmed at Big Bear Lake, California, by Producer, Art Jacobs, the movie utilizes some of the same locations Jacobs had employed in his earlier horror opus, GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN (1958). Large breasted Russ Meyer superstars, Uschi Digard and Sharon Kelly (both of SUPER VIXENS), join exploitation movie stalwart, Jackie Giroux in this erotic twist on the old "Boy Meets Girl, Girl Meets Bigfoot" story.
