Description: A parody of the classic 'Dogs Playing Poker'. The canines of this 14" x 24" game mat are enjoying the archetypical collectible card game.In 1903, the Brown & Bigelow Cigar Company commissioned sixteen oil paintings from artist Cassius Marcellus Coolidge. 9 of them depicted dogs playing poker. One such example is "A Bold Bluff".Cassius' art became derisively well known in the United States as examples of mainly working-class taste in home decoration, synonymous with kitsch and tackiness. They also became incredibly popular and famous, and stand as icons of Americana. Having long since entered the public domain, they have the distinction of being some of the most printed, most copied, and most recognizable art ever made.I created the "Dogs Playing D&D" poster project as a parody of "A Bold Bluff", because I wanted to hang something like this in my Man Cave. Towards the end of that campaign, one of my backers expressed interest in seeing his favorite game worked into a similar poster. And so, I got back to work...This game mat is 14" x 24", printed in gorgeous full color on a fabric surface with a rubber backing.I can usually combine shipping if you order more than one item. If you would like to do this, purchase all of the items you want, but do not pay. Use the Request Invoice option, and I will send a revised total.I also have copies available that are autographed by the artist.
