Disneyland's 50th Anniversary LE-2500 SHAG Frontierland Wooden Pocketbook

Description: This unique, fun, and only slightly impractical purse will grab everyone's attention when you’re out and about and ready for fun. The purse, in a limited edition size of 1955, was designed by SHAG and sold at Disneyland in 2005 to celebrate the Park’s 50th Anniversary. The art is immediately recognizable as SHAG’s, with his 50’s style designs and characters and was one of many items he created for the anniversary. The box exterior measures 9 1/8” wide x 6 3/4” high x 2 3/8” deep, with interior measurements of 8 1/4” x 5 5/8” x 1 3/4” (measurements are approximate). The gold-tone metal hook latch keeps the purse closed and each side of the box has western-themed designs etched into the wood. The interior of the box has an etched design of Cinderella’s Castle with the number “50” in the middle, Tinker Bell flying above the turrets, and the words “Disneyland Resort” emblazoned on an engraved ribbon just below the castle. The theme for the 50th anniversary was “Happiest Homecoming on Earth” which is also etched into the wood. The handle is black-painted bamboo, large enough to allow the purse to be carried comfortably in the crook of the wearer’s arm. Included is the original tag verifying the limited edition size and that it was designed by SHAG. The lid is slightly warped and raises above the frame approximately 1/16” but does not affect the ability of the purse to close, there are two scrapes where the purse handle rubs against the frame of the purse, and some small scratches on the exterior of the purse (see last two photos); other than those, there are no other defects noted.
