Description: Facsimile reprint (not retyped) of the 1950s Science Fiction fanzine DESTINY. This fanzine ran for 11 issues from 1950 to 1954 and was published by Malcolm Willits, Jim Bradley and Earl Kemp. It was originally published in a variety of sizes with issue #1 at 8 1/2 x 11, then #2-6 as a digest size 4 1/2" x 6" and #7-11 at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". It averaged 32 pages for several issues and 64 pages in the final two issues, with very few ads. Each issue had articles, book reviews, fiction, poetry and artwork, including two issues with art by Hannes Bok. The cover on #10 (shown above) was by Chesley Bonestell. Other contributing artists include D. Bruce Berry and Ralph Rayburn Phillips. DESTINY started out somewhat on the crude side (issue #1) but soon had contributions from Willy Ley, Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Bloch. They went far in just five years. The final issue has a long feature by Edward Wood (the science fiction fan, no relation to the director of the same name). This omnibus reprint is done in 3 volumes (96 to 128 pages per volume) and the three volumes together contain the complete run of the fanzine. This reprint is enlarged so that each page is 8 1/2 x 11 and thus has a uniform size throughout. These reprints are photocopies, 8 1/2 x 11, side-stapled with heavy glossy covers. This listing is for volume three only. I have a separate listing for all 3 volumes. DESTINY OMNIBUS REPRINT #3 (reprints issues #10-11 from 1953 & 1954). Art by Chesley Bonestell, Ralph Rayburn Phillips, Hannes Bok, Charles Harness and Neil Austin. "Close Opposition" by Fritz Leiber. "The Communist" by Robert Bloch. "Quarter In The Slot" by Frank M. Robinson. "The British Horror Film" by Dennis Gifford. "The Destiny Portfolio of Amateur Fantasy Art." "Fantasy and the Animated Cartoon" by Robert R. Pattrick. "L. Frank Baum in retrospect" (illustrations by Lin Carter). Profile of Leigh Brackett. Poem "Come And Kill Me, Earthman!" by Richard E. Geis. "The Destiny Index Of Fantasy--1953" by Edward Wood & Earl Kemp. "White Paper: 1953-1954" by Edward Wood. "The 1953 SF Books" by Earl Kemp. And more. -- 128 pages.
