Socket Button Heads do not normally have as many problems. Black oxide coated common steel will deteriorate in a few years and then rust. Stainless steel will end rust concerns forever.PROTECTION WITH WASHERS: Many Derby Cover Bolts are installed with no washers as it was cheaper that way. However, tightening bolts down on to derby covers, tends to rough up mating surfaces. We feel that it is better to let washers take the abuse during tightening.
