Deja View Camwear Wearable Hands Free Digital Camera

Description: Received as a gift. Still Brand New In The Box A great feature of the Deja View Camwear Model 100 wearable camera is how it continually buffers 30 seconds of footage: If you see your child score the winning goal or take a few tentative first steps, you can press the record button after the fact and still capture the action. Although the camera is small, it's still noticeable, ruling it out for "hidden camera" work or dates. But you can attach it to your glasses or your hat for hands-free use, and the battery pack fits in your pocket or clips to your hip. It's easy to use, shoots decent-quality footage, and can be connected to your TV or computer for playback. BRICK, N.J., March 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Based on its early rave reviews, the Deja View Camwear camcorder has been selected to appear on ABC's popular Live With Regis & Kelly show Tuesday, March 9.What's all the fuss about a camcorder? Ever since its introduction late last year, the camera has turned the heads of media and industry experts for its unique ability to capture action 30 seconds BEFORE the Record button is pressed. The camera/microphone unit, worn on glasses or bill of a hat, is less than an inch long and smaller than a nickel in diameter. It attaches by wire to a PDA-sized remote unit that clips to a belt or waistband, or fits easily into a pocket and contains the easy access controls, 64 megabytes to one gigabyte of flash memory and enough battery life to last up to four hours of continuous use. While the camera is powered on, it scans everything the user "sees". When the user wants to record a particular event that just occurred, he or she presses the Record button. Up to 30 seconds of both video and audio are then written to a removable flash memory card located within the remote unit.Typical scenario: A Little League baseball player hits a home run and starts running around the bases. In the moment of excitement, the parents cheer their son or daughter and forget to press the Record button just when the bat hit the ball. No problem. With Deja View's new camera, the parents can press Record when their child is circling the bases and still record the entire sequence."Our cameras are all wearable, hands free and ideally suited to a variety of applications, including recreation, business, education, travel and tourism, government, the military and law enforcement," according to Sid Reich, Deja View president. He said they will be available in the second quarter for a $399.95 suggested retail price at several nationwide retail outlets to be announced soon.Camwear features include: -- Up to four hours of video and audio recording. -- Video quality at CIF (320x240) at 30 frames per second. -- From 64 megabytes to one gigabyte flash memory for a minimum of 48 video/audio clips. -- Storage use indicator light -- Rechargeable battery provides up to eight hours of power for a maximum of 250 video captures. -- A 110v charger. -- Using a USB cable or flash memory reader along with Deja View's software, the user can download the video/audio clips to a PC or Mac. There also is output directly to TV and VCRs, or to DVD burner via RCA jacks. -- File viewing with Deja View's software or Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and other industry-standard players. -- Ability to create CDs, VCDs and DVDs. -- DirectConnect ($49.95) reads flash memory and sends video, video with audio or still pictures directly to a TV or VCR. It can be used with all Deja View cameras or any digital camera, and is compatible with most media, including CompactFlash Type I and II, MicroDrive, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, SecureDigital and Memory Stick.
