Tetraploidseedling of Coccinea Château de la Grifferaie is in the village of Echemiré in the commune of Baugé-en Anjou, Maine-et-Loire. See 1845 reference for attribution of this rose to L. Legris, who was the proprietor of the Château and a rose lover. Earliest mention of a "De Grille" as breeder is in 1886.
