datsun 510 -vintage style amco center console- new!

Description: I purchased my first NEW Datsun 510 in 1972 from the local dealers showroom. My favorite accessory that I added was the AMCO center console.This accessory really changed the feel of the car. Not only was it a comfortable place to rest my arm while shifting thru the gears italso completed the sporty look of the car's interior! After collecting several more 510's thru the years I found it was almost impossible to get a Console for them as they have become extremely hard to find in any condition. Being a Plastic Engineer, I decided to build an improved version of the original AMCO Console which were made of very thin plastic back in the early 70's and were not very durable. They tended to crack easily around the mounting holes that attach it to the transmission tunnel. So, my solution was to build a fiberglass mold of the original console and vacuum form new versions with more than double the thickness using 3/16" thick ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). This polymer offers great structural integrity for this application. In addition, the new arm rest cover is a seamless vacuum formed marine grade Naugahyde with memory foam. The front closure is now magnetic instead of a locking ball pin. Realizing everyone likes to customize their own 510's, I am including four different shift pattern decals to match your transmission (4/5/6 speed). The console transmission gear shift hole location can be customized by you to meet your specifications. As you can see in the pictures the whole can be cut towards the back to allow the front edge of the console to be under the heater outlet. Please feel free to email me any questions you might have.
