Description: This is a vintage original Revised Final Draft script from the 1950's action/crime drama television series, DANGER IS MY BUSINESS, produced by Screen Gems, Inc. Hosted by Lieutenant Colonel John D. Craig, this documentary-style series ran from 1958-59 and told the stories of people who have dangerous occupations. It is for the episode entitled Double Indemnity (production #4079), featuring a screenplay by Jack Harvey. This script consists of one continuous flowing story as opposed to being written in various acts. This Revised Final Draft script is dated July 1, 1957 and has a total of 41 pages on white stock which were 3-hole punched and bound with two brass brads between a light green cardstock front and back cover. It is complete in overall fine+ condition with a light vertical crease on the front cover to the right of the brads and a 1.25 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner. A prior owner had folded the script and it produced a fairly light vertical crease down the middle which affects the entire script. The last several pages have a small 0.25 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right corner. On the top right corner of the back cover is an area of creasing and small tears above the top brad hole and a 0.25 in. horizontal tear on the left edge beneath the center with a few small smudges. Handwritten in red ink on the top of the front cover is the name "Kostwick" and handwritten in pencil is "Still dept." Also written in red ink on the top right corner of the back cover is "Seaman Club - Y.M.C.A. - Don Siegal" (we believe this is a reference to producer/director Don Siegel (the person misspelled his last name), as he produced some television episodes at this particular time). OF INTEREST is this script includes on page entitled "NOTE" which list various "DONT'S" that were not allowed at the time, including: no smoking or the use of matches or mechanical lighters; no use of beer, alcoholic beverages, or or drunkenness; and even "no shaving or display of shaving equipment" and "no derogatory treatment of food or drug products," among others. We could only find very little information online about this television series and some of the other episodes were: Phantom Leathernecks (Marine Sgt. Robert McKenzie is accompanied by the camera on his secret mission to locate enemy forces in preparation for a Marine offensive; Seagoing Zoologist (a zoologist dives deep into Hawaiian seas to capture tiger sharks); Bronco Buster (a professional Rodeo contestant practises for a big rodeo competition); South Seas Raft Man (the fourth attempt by DeVere Baker and his three companions to cross the pacific on a raft); and Motorcycle Maniac (a professional motorcycle racer is shown in a cross-country competition speeding along an unplanned track and facing such hazards as blowouts, explosions and crash pile-ups).
