Dance Club Kayla Midge vintage doll, 1989 Mattel Barbie

Description: Mattel's Dance Club Kayla wears her original skirt from the 1989 release. The stand is NOT included. This doll's face was also sometimes sold as Midge of the Barbie line. She has a date-stamp of "1985" on the back of her head and "1966" on her body. Kayla has her original earrings and finger ring and her original green skirt and green underpants but I am not sure if the white blouse is original. It does not look like the white top that came with the original 1989 release and it appears someone has added some custom bead work to the dress and top. Also, the skirt seems to have been customized by connecting the green skirt tulle to the white top with fabric glue. Please see the close-up photos of the skirt and top. The shoes are not the original 1989 high heel shoes although they have similarities. These shoes were white and then blackened with fingernail polish to resemble the original 1989 black color.
