The images presented here in this lavish, tactile and visually rewarding limited edition feature what Daido calls the "holy sites" of sports: stadiums, swimming pools, racetracks, boxing rings, etc., each made more sublime by the acute lack of human presence. Comparing these photographs with others in the book that depict majestic snow-covered mountain landscapes, one can begin to understand the sacredness that Daido suggests is contained within these structures and spaces.
