Up for sale is a very nice custom-built Orvis bamboo salmon rod. It appears that this rod was totally redone at some point in time. Unfortunately, the label and the serial number have also been removed. Possibly a kit rod? With that being said, this rod is in great shape and it is free of any defects. Its actual length is just over 9' 6" and it weighs 8.3oz. All three pieces are full-length, and they are straight. Please note, the reel seat has some oxidation and I believe this rod originally came with a fighting butt (I could not get the butt-cap off). The ferrules fit tight and they measure 17/64" (they do need a good cleaning). The cork handle is clean, and the bamboo looks amazing. This rod feels like it would handle 9-10wt fly lines (possibly even 10wt+). It would be perfect for salmon or even saltwater fishing. This rod comes with the sock I found it with and a replacement tube to help keep it safe (the tube doesn’t have a cap). All-in-all, a great rod to fish with or even collect!
