Additionally, one can mix and match unique single cufflinks, such as pairing two different cufflinks that hold special meanings or represent variations of the same theme, like coins, animals, colors, or stones. Essentially, any combination of cufflinks can be used according to personal preference. This concept also applies to formal shirt studs; you can use a standard set and place a unique stud in a focal point, like the top buttonhole, or use entirely different studs to make a statement.
