Two small black ink stamps noting, "Art Library" and the number 1267844 on page 5; otherwise no other markings. Interior of front board shows remnants of a bookplate. Bookseller's small label on rear of back cover, "W. H. Smith and Sons Library." Binding strong, top edge gilted. Translated from the French, this is the first edition in English with author's name[Metzinger] misspelled on the cover. The first book to use "cubism" as a term for the new artistic movement. Scarce.
