Internally clean and unmarked, save an inscription of previous owner to ffep free. 2nd Impression dust wrapper is chipped with slight loss along top edge and head and tail of spine; slight loss to corners. A few internal tape repairs. Slight foxing, fading, and soiling to panels. Minor wear to extremities; now in archival sleeve. 256pp. Hideous Strength: Original dark navy cloth with gilt title on spine, still bright. Slightly bumped and worn corners; all edges have slight rubbing to cloth. Faint fading to cloth with white markings to rear board. Tanning to fore edge of text block and moderate tanning throughout; occasional spots of foxing. Tight spine, hinges, and text block. Plain end papers with inscription of previous owner to ffep and same to front glue down. Slightest of forward lean. Bump to upper corner of p259 and following 60 pp. Original 2nd impression wrapper has slight loss to spine with chipping to edges. Rubbing, wear, and loss to edges and corners. Inscription of previous owner to inner flap. Tanning and soiling to rear panel; now in archival sleeve. 476pp. Increasingly scarce set in good condition with original unclipped dust wrappers.
