The casting process used to produce these urns is called ceramic shell investment casting. This casting process provides the utmost detail. We produce the ceramic molds in our foundry in Howard Lake, Mn. The bronze metal is heated to 2180 degrees Fahrenheit and poured into the ceramic molds. After metal finishing is complete the urn is finished with a warm brown patina. It is then mounted to a black walnut base. We do have some marble bases available for an additional $30.00., please inquire, they come in green, black and white. These urns are produced with the same detail that we use when we produce castings for art collectors. They are about 8 to 9 lbs. and about 6'' tall not including the base. ALL MADE IN MINNESOTA, USA.
