Description: This week, I’m auctioning off some choice examples of comic book and comic strip original art. There should be something for everyone here. In the early Sixties, Warren Publications successfully revived the greatest of horror comics by publishing Creepy, as well as Eerie and Vampirella later on. These anthology magazines were done in the style of the classic EC comics of the Fifties, and employed many of the same great artists! For a few years at least, the public could enjoy dark horror stories illustrated by the finest artists of the past generation! Needless to say, original artwork from these magazines, particularly the earlier issues featuring former EC artists, are very, very much in demand! Here I have a page from Creepy #118, page seven of the thirteen-page story "Junior Was a Momma's Boy." It's illustrated by the legendary Carmine Infantino (inked by Jorge Benuy), generally considered to be one of the most influential artists of the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies. Infantino illustration numerous characters in the DC universe, including Batman and the Flash, and was responsible for revamping the Batman character in the mid-Sixties. He went on to be named DC's publisher for a few years, and then moved over to Marvel, where he illustrated Star Wars and Spider-Woman in the Seventies and Eighties. He's known for his fluid line work and his dynamic approach to action. The page measures a big 12 5/8 x 17 1/8! It's in great shape and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain this sort of art! It's ready to frame and display! Shipping is $12.00 for Priority Mail.
