About the Car: Fords have always won their share of stock car races, but it remained for Dan Gurney to show the boys how with a fabulous string of 4 consecutive first places in the Riverside 500 (1963, 1964, 1965, 1966). This kit duplicated the 1966 Ford Galaxie Hardtop, powered by the powerful 427 cubic inch Ford V-8 with overhead cams, that Dan drove to victory in the 1966 race. BONUS: Also included is a 3 page photo copy of a Model Car Science July 1967 Vol 5 No 7 magazine article about the Ford Galaxie Stock Car titled "The Big League Brawler". From the article: The Cox Manufacturing Company has finally released their on-again, off-again Ford stocker in 1/24 scale. The car was announced once before, then cancelled due to some sort of problem in the manufacturing end; but now it's on again! This stocker is the first model kit to be released in the "Dan Gurney Authorized" series and it's a 1/25 scale version of Big Dan's famous 121 Ford stock car that blew off everybody at the Motor Trend Riverside 500 race four years in a row!
