Description: Though the 10,000 Congo franc banknote was first issued on July 2, 2012 by the Banque Centrale du Congo, the date and signature of then bank governor Jean-Claude Masangu Mulongo bears the date 18.02.06 (February 18, 2006). The violet banknote measures 151 mm long and 72 mm wide. The obverse features two gnus standing above the signature and a carved statuette. The reverse side features a plantain farm and the fruit, and a bird perched on a branch. The security features of the note are a registration device of a map with RDC printed in it, a windowed security thread with demetalized RD Congo text, a watermark of a leopard head, and an electrotype watermark of 10000.
