Folio, measuring approx. 8 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 inches. 16th century blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards. Minor rubbing, fading, and soiling; lacks the clasps. Pages show natural browning and aging of paper. Old ink notations on endpapers, a few small ownership signatures on title page dated 1681 and 1875.m The first text page is damaged as it appears the top and upper right margins were clipped off - the text i8s unaffected. Overall in good condition, particularly for a book over 450 years old! EARLY EDITION OF AN IMPORTANT WORK OF THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION. The text consists of notes made by Luther's dinner companions from 1531-1566 and contain his views on theological issues, Biblical interpretation, and the Christian life.
