Cliff Branch (1948 - 2019) was an Oakland / Los Angeles Raiders wide receiver for the entirety of his NFL career (1972 to 1985). He blossomed in his third season, catching 60 passes for 13 touchdowns and 1,092 yards. LEADING THE LEAGUE IN RECEIVING YARDS, TOUCHDOWNS (which he would do again in 1976), and RECEIVING YARDS PER GAME that year, Branch was named an ALL-PRO for the 1st of 3 times and was selected to his 1st of 4 consecutive PRO-BOWLS. In that year's AFC CHAMPIONSHIP, despite losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers, BRANCH CAUGHT 9 PASSES FOR 186 YARDS AND A TD. Over the course of his career Branch LED THE RAIDERS IN RECEIVING YARDS 6 TIMES (1974-1976, 1979-1980, 1982) and in TD RECEPTIONS 5 TIMES (1974-1977, 1982). He additionally led the Raiders to 3 SUPER BOWL VICTORIES (Super Bowls XI, XV and XVIII), and was considered ONE OF THE GAME'S TOP POST-SEASON PERFORMERS OF ALL TIME! In 22 post-season games Branch caught 73 passes for 1,289 yards (17.7 average) and 5 touchdowns. In October 1983 Branch CAUGHT A 99 YARD PASS from Jim Plunkett which REMAINS the LONGEST CATCH IN RAIDERS HISTORY to this day.
