Description: Clear EAPG Block pattern, OMN is No. .331, ivy or rose vase made by George Duncan and Sons in Pittsburgh, PA. Production began in the 1890s and made in a variety of pieces and shapes including pitchers. Also came with ruby staining. The size of the ivy or rose bowl is 5-1/4" HOA and 5-5/8" diameter of the opening at the rim. Ray design on the base. The piece is undamaged. If you have any additional questions or would like additional photos, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to help out. As with almost all items made of glass in the 19th and early 20th century- tiny bubbles, annealing lines, straw marks, mold roughness, slight lean, etc., are not considered damage to the piece. This happens when the piece is being created, also called “in the making”. Most Early American Pattern Glass, EAPG for short, was made in the United States starting in the 19th century and ending in the first quarter of the 20th century. EAPG was made for everyday use and can still be used today to make any occasion extra special, elegant and fun, not to mention the perfect gift for anyone. Many patterns had complete table settings along with compotes both covered and uncovered, goblets, tumblers, punch bowls, cake stands, etc. With so many patterns and pieces out there, the collecting can be endless. I would recommend not putting the glass in the dishwasher, please hand wash. EAPG was made before dishwashers. They can cause damage to the glass. If you do use a dishwasher, please use the delicate/china setting and only place on the top rack. Thank you for visiting Blue Mantel Antiques. I look forward to working with you.
