Description: Vintage studio crafted redware pottery mug or stein by Iowa artist Clary Illian. Intaglio design, handle and interior are glazed a deep red brown. Exterior surface has a glossy golden yellow glaze. The mug has four sides but ends in a round base. Measures 5-1/4" tall. Base diameter is 3-1/2" and top edge is 3" square. Artist's mark on back side. This is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some light crazing of the yellow glaze.
