Description: Vintage Mid-Century Christmas Kitsch Hand Decorated 43" Diameter Holiday Tree Skirt or *Table Cover I believe this was handmade from a vintage Bucilla brand tree skirt kit. It features 3 Sets of Santa Claus & Snowman pals, a NOEL worded Banner, Christmas Trees, and Snowballs in a collage scene in the round with each "set" being approximately a big 15-16" tall. These are wonderful and they really fill out the skirt well. Very cute, very adorable, very classic Christmas Kitsch Mid-Century style! Authentic vintage. This was a recent find and I had to talk myself into letting it go. I've collected Mid-Century and antique Christmas for decades (way before it was popular), and my feelers really went out when I found this beauty! I have several others, though, and am supposed to be pairing down my collections, so I'm going to let it go. PROS: Clean! - No smoke or animal odorNo Stains or faded areas! No water damage - was used with a silver Christmas tree that I missed :( at the saleHas expected/desired look of being vintage, but not "yellow or tan-toned" out - the pom trim and the white pieces of felt are still very nice and near white - good as you can get for 50+ years of ageAll the felt pieces and sequins and seed beads are firmly attached, not peeling upThe white pom trim is soft and was machine sewn onto the skirt, so it is well attachedGreat size - 43" diameter including the trim CONS: One small stray scissor cut and 1 or 2 small holes noted (found these when I was going over it closely looking for flaws and I pointed them out in blown-up photos) - they are repairable, but won't fray being in the felt that won't fray, and are not distracting. If you hold it up to strong light from the back and look, you'll see a few light very small spots where the felt is just a bit thinner - that is just the way it's made, nothing you'll see when it is being used. One little snowball is missing - number 45. See photo. Not distracting, easy to make one if you want.*Not sure if I'd call this a CON, but the center was cross-cut for a Christmas tree pole. Fortunately, it was not cut from the center out to the edge, so if you want to use it for a table cover, all you have to lay a circular piece of felt or small doily over the hole. I have a couple skirts like this that I sequin decorated a Christmas ornament or snowflake shape and I just put a few tack skitches on one side so I could flip it up when it's on the tree, or lay it flat when I use them on tables. Just a thought. If you've been wanting an authentic kitschy tree skirt, I hope you consider this one. It's such a nice one and it was well done and is ready to use!
