Description: This listing is for a No. 8 Chicago Hardware cast iron skillet. This skillet likely was produced in the 1920s, possibly a little earlier or later. It has the outter heat ring that would have fit the eye of the Chicago Hardware Foundry made stoves. This skillet is an excellent example of their craftsmanship. The skillet has been restored using a lye bath and seasoned several rounds. The cooking surface is exceptionally smooth, you can tell it's been polished, I understand most foundries did polish or mill their skillets back in the day, and overall put more care into individual pieces than they do today. The back of the skillet has a relief line caused by the sand shifting in the mold. (SEE PHOTOS) The skillet is right at 10 1/2" in diameter (SEE LAST PHOTO) The skillet has a slight rock front to back, 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock on a glass oventop, but won't spin. Please look closely at the photos I have posted as they can tell you more than I can describe. I am selling the items USED and AS IS. (SEE PHOTOS) I'll ship this out the next business day WELL PACKAGED via USPS Priority Mail. (I will do any type of shipping service you request if it is possible.) I'm not offering returns but you the buyer are covered under eBay's money back guarantee if the item isn't as described, so bid with confidence! Thanks!
