Description: Charles Cardale Luck Original Painting of Avignon France 1910 Signed Swedish Art Swedish Artist, Charles Cardale Luck (1875-1954) Original Signed and Inscribed Painting of Avignon, Provence, France. Circa 1910 This is a gorgeous landscape painting by Swedish Artist, Charles Cardale Luck Original Signed and Inscribed Painting of Avignon, Provence, France. Circa 1910. This painting was made when he was studying in the Uk, and he made several study trips to France, between the year 1903-1915. My guess is that this was from around 1910, as he dedicates the painting to his future wife, Maud, or perhaps he travelled with her as they were married in 1910. The painting shows the view of town of Avignon and the the Papal Palace in the background. The painting is signed and inscribed at lower right "To Maud, Memory of Avignon, Cardale Luck" Charles Cardale Luck, alias CC Luck , born May 26, 1875 in Stockholm, Sweden died July 16, 1954 in Kenya in East Africa. No apparent inpainting, colors are fresh and paint has a nice texture to it. There is a few brown stains on the upper left corner, but that do not affect the overall look of the painting (I think they may remants of old tape or glue from an earlier frame.
