The Turned Stool is a design that has absolutely stood the test of time, as have the majority of designs from Eames and Herman Miller. This stool was first released in all its gorgeous walnut glory in 1960 and has been a staple of living rooms, offices, entryways, and lobbies ever since. This piece is dynamic and versatile in its design and placement. As Ray Eames was quoted in saying, Deep enough to form a comfortable seat and shallow enough to balance a cup of coffee". Even aside from any obvious functional uses, this piece lives in the space it is placed as an object of art when not in use. The soft lines and curves meet the contrasting edges of the Shape C design with ease, as if it was sculpted out of a single log of walnut wood. Our particular stool is in very good condition. Additionally, original Herman Miller paperwork is included as pictured above. This piece measures 15 inches tall, and has a 13 inch diameter.
