Made in Limoges, France, this Lovely pattern was originally designed in the 18th century by the Compagnie Francaise des Indes for the Marquise de Pompadour (Madame Pompadour), mistress, friend and advisor to King Louis XV. It features all - white porcelain decorated in a chinoiserie pattern with a vibrant orange and blue floral design of beautiful, lush poppies and chrysanthemums with green feathery leaves. The wide border features the same floral sprays with a center medallion that showcases a colorful orange fish and a charming, graceful bird, an orange, yellow and blue - green beaded border, gold trim.
