This is a fabulous example of an early Bru doll the "Poupée de Mode" (literal translation is Doll of Fashion), or Lady Fashion Doll, sometimes referred to as “Smiling Bru” or “Mona Lisa Bru”. Dolls like these were produced from 1866 to 1885 and featured bodies of goatskin leather and wood. This Cathy Hansen Artist designed doll has a bisque porcelain head, arms and white painted on boots. Her body is stitched leather. Signed as shown on the back. Doll measures 8" tall. Very good condition without any damage. crown. She is ready to be dressed as you please.
