Carl Zeiss Jena MC Flektogon 20mm f2.8 lens M42 mount (CLA'd by Gus Lazzari)

Description: This lens is in excellent condition overall. I purchased from a Japanese seller in 2021 and have fallen in love with the look/character of the Zeiss Jena lens line, especially this 20mm f/2.8. Upon purchasing the lens back in 2021, I encountered an issue (which I later learned is quite common with Zeiss Jenas) where the aperture mechanism would get stuck. This did not appear to be due to oil as the blades appeared quite clean, but nonetheless I sent in this lens along with two other Zeiss Jenas to Gus Lazzari from TLC Camera Repair for a full CLA. After receiving the lens, Gus described it as follows: "20mm lens has lubricant failure causing lube migration to appear on the aperture blades which is hampering their movement. Aperture ring has normal feel.As can be seen under magnification, only minor cleaning abrasions to front & rear element surfaces (small scratch visible on front element). Minor debris inside element air-spaces. Debris build-up on lens mount surfaces with wear abrasions. Some tool marks can be seen on retainers & screws (past repairs). Minor scratches & wear abrasions to external black finishes (grip ring surface has wear). Impact blemishes to the front edge of 'filter tube'." After the CLA (I received the lens again in August of 2022), the lens works like new. The image has not been impacted by any of the above and is capable of producing stellar images. There does not appear to be any fungus, separation, or other issues with the lens. Focusing is smooth and the aperture ring feels great. The lens aperture has NOT been de-clicked, but I am including the following items which constitute a 'cine mod' of the lens:- 67 to 77mm step-up ring with custom aluminum cap (this step-up ring will cause a slight vignette on a full frame sensor)- Simmod Follow Focus Gear- Original M42 mount rear lens cap- M42 to Canon EF adapter with rear lens cap- M42 to Canon FD adapter with rear lens cap- Simmod 67mm UV filter (for protecting the front element)- Original lens case Please note I could not find the original 67mm push on front cap for these photographs but I will update the listing if I am able to locate where I put it. The cine modded lens does not fit in the case, but I figured I would include all of the above so the buyer (hopefully you) has some options. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions!
