Description: Card of 35 antique clothing buttons were produced during various eras. Most are from antique era of the 1800s or early 1900s, but a few appear to be from the vintage or modern eras, as well. All buttons picture various types of bird life. The buttons are made of the following materials: black glass, horn, tin, pewter, wood, brass, or other metals. The card used here is a work card -- not a display card -- made of a thinner cardboard, on which someone has handwritten the phrase -- BIRDS - MED. -- in pen ... although quite of the buttons on the card are either Large or Small, not medium. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact sizes of the buttons. Overall condition: Solid VG/VG+..... The buttons may have tarnished a bit with age, or have slight surface wear -- but there are no cracks, breaks, or other more serious flaws. They are overall in nice shape and will display well. See attached photos for more detail on the condition. ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage buttons. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She downsized her collection before passing away in 2020, so I have been helping her sell some of her treasures. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experienced with. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any hobby standards.
