Description: This is for One Capacitor for Starting Fuel Injected (EFI and TPI) Dirt Bikes without the Battery. Have you ever had a ride interrupted or not started by a dead battery on your motorcycle? Dirt bikes with fuel injection require a battery to run to prime the fuel pump before the bike can be started. If the battery is dead, you will not be able to start your bike. This capacitor stores just enough energy to keep the fuel pump and other electronics powered so you can run your bike without the battery (you will have to start the bike using the kick starter or maybe even a bump start). If your battery dies on the trail, when you go to start it for the ride or you forgot and left your key on, you can connect this capacitor in place of your battery and go ride. This works great on my 2016 KTM 500 EXC which has EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection). It also should work on KTM and Husqvarna TPI and EFI models. I made these because I have been burned by a dead battery upon arrival to the offroad park after driving two hours to get there. I wanted to have one of these on me for rides in case someone in my group has a dead battery. This could save the ride. These capacitors are intended to work on KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, and other brands four stroke and two stroke EFI and TPI motorcycles that require DC electricity to run the fuel pump on fuel injected dirt bikes. Here is a video showing one connected and working on my motorcycle.https://youtu.be/w2xszzqOjrgConnectionConnect the Positive (red)wire to the positive battery wire and the Negative (black) to the negative battery wire. Notes· This works on models that require the battery to run the fuel pump. The best way to test if the battery is needed is to disconnect the battery and try to start the bike with the kick starter or bump start. If it does not start, then it needs the battery to run, and this capacitor should work in place of the battery to run the fuel pump.· This will not help carburetor models as they should run without the battery. · If the issue is something other than the battery being dead, this capacitor may not help. For example, if the stator or voltage regulator is not providing power to the battery, this will not work. It needs that power to keep things running.· The capacitor stores energy after it has been connected to the bike and ran. After resolving the battery issue and disconnecting the capacitor from the bike, make sure the positive and negative connectors do not touch until after you discharge the unit. You can do this by connecting to a small light bulb till the energy runs out.· Please contact the seller for any questions before you purchase.
