This CLI-8 Yellow (Y) can be used instantly for those who use this cartridge and wish to refill. It has it's original CLI-8 chip which has been reset. Another use for this CLI-8 Yellow (Y) cartridge are for those that have a Canon Pro-100 printer but have heard of and fear the "yellow jello" issue which occurs when flushing the original Canon CLI-42 yellow cartridge. Here is your fix for yellow jello. You'll need to move over the chip from your CLI-42 cartridge and remove the CLI-8 chip.
