This style is the last to feature the black background before the state switched to green signs in August 1959 to conform with the new Interstate standards. An original of these is not only very rare to find scrapped, but is a herculean effort to transport; the original of this sign is twelve and a half feet wide, so we've scaled it down for more wieldy display. Also, as far as I know, they have all been destroyed. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a hernia...or needing a time machine. The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 3 lb. 2 oz., and is 17 by 7 inches. If you would like a different size, please do not hesitate to inquire. This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective sign — perfect for indoor or outdoor display. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
