Description: LONG WAVE and SHORT WAVE UV Nice bright orange fluorescence under both long and short wave UV light on this cleaved Calcite specimen. The crystal is cleaved into a typical Calcite rhombohedral form and is a white color mostly. First image is under long wave UV and the second under short wave UV light. From Yuma, Arizona. 30 grams. 1-1/2" length. NOTE! I used a long wave (365nm) UV convoy2 with a band pass filter for the long wave images, you will need one as well to see the UV reaction like in the pictures.The short wave images were shot under a 6 watt short wave lamp (254nm).
