Barnum & Bailey Circus Poster Elephant with Banner Vintage Date: c.1950 Artist: Unknown Size (in): 41” x 28” Size (cm): 104 x 71 Condition: B+ Linen backed: No This vintage original promotional poster was issued by the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus in the late 1940s or early 1950s. This poster still has the original paper banner attached advertising circus in Manchester, New Hampshire. The poster measures about 41” x 28” and the banner measures about 41” x 9.5” and both together measure about 41” x 35.5”. This poster features an image of a clown riding an elephant with the “Greatest Show on Earth” logo printed in the upper lefthand corner. The artist name doesn’t appear on this poster but it came with others by Bill Bailey and looks similar to his artwork. This vintage original poster has a small bit of paper loss to the tip of the upper left corner in the margin area not affecting the artwork. The poster is otherwise in very good condition with just moderate handling wear and a lateral crease at the center. The paper banner could probably be removed if you wanted to do that but we are selling the poster as found. Overall condition is very good.
