Description: Offered for sale is this great example of the larger version "Turnover Tank No. 3" lithographed tin windup toy, manufactured sometime in the 1930's by Louis Marx & Co. The toy measures about 8" long xl 5 1/2" wide x 4 1/4 ' tall and is in excellent condition: There is some light play wear (small scratches and spots of discoloration). but the lithographed finish is still bright and shiny, and there are no dents, seam splits, or other significant damage. The on-off switch works fine and though the wind up mechanism seems strong, when wound the tank moves sluggishly and the turn over lever is not strong enough to turn the tank over (though the lever works fine when held off the floor). It includes all of its original parts, has stood up amazingly well given its age, and makes a great, displays piece. Please check the photos carefully (we recommend using the magnifying function) as they do a better job than we can of describing the piece.
