Description: FOR YOUR CONSIDERATIONWE OFFER THIS TRANSFERWARE PITCHER & CUP BY BROWN, WESTHEAD, MOORE & CO., NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND. THE BACKSTAMP IS ONE OF THE EARLY ONES, USED BETWEEN 1862 AND 1904. HOWEVER, THESE PIECES WERE MOST LIKELY MADE AFTER 1891 SINCE 'ENGLAND IS OFF TO THE SIDE AND NOT PART OF THE STAMP. THERE IS ALSO A NO. 21, ENGLAND, AN IMPRESSED SQUIGGLY MARK AND IMPRESSED PRINTING ON THE BASE EDGE OF THE PITCHER WHICH I CANNOT DECIPHER. ON THE STAMP ITSELF IS THE WORD 'BELMONT'. I BELIEVE BELMONT IS A COLLECTION, NOT THE PATTERN NAME. IN A SEARCH FOR BELMONT, MANY PATTERNS SHOW UP IN BROWNS AND FLOW BLUES, BUT WE HAVE NOT SEEN THIS ONE. THE BODY OF BOTH PIECES IS SLIGHTLY RIBBED WITH SOME RAISED AREAS IN THE DESIGN. THEY LOOK ALMOST BISQUE AND THE HANDLES & INSIDES ARE GLOSSY. ALSO THE USE OF ANOTHER COLOR, PURPLE FLOWERS IN THIS CASE, IS NOT COMMON. THE GOLD TRIM IS INTACT EXCEPT FOR THE RIM OF THE PITCHER. THERE ARE NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. IN PICTURE 4 YOU CAN SEE SOME LINES THAT LOOK LIKE LIGHT SCRATCH MARKS BUT CANNOT BE FELT. BOTH CUP AND PITCHER ARE IN VERY NICE CONDITION. THE CUP STANDS JUST OVER 3 1/4" WITH A RIM DIAMETER OF 2 3/4". THE PITCHER STANDS 7 3/8" TO THE TOP OF THE SPOUT AND MEASURES 6" ACROSS FROM HANDLE TO SPOUT. DIAMETER AT THE WIDEST AREA IS 6 1/2".
