The former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy rostered a fleet of E-units that saw service in long-distance intercity trains as well as suburban commuter service. Burlington Northern was formed in 1970. Amtrak took over long-distance passenger service in the nation in 1971. In 1972, the BN sold 21 E-units to the West Suburban Mass Transit District in Illinois solely for use on Chicago-Aurora commuter runs. These 21 E-units were rebuilt which lead to twenty more years of continuous commuter service. This is an 88-page color softcover printed on gloss paper. New shrinkwrapped copy.
